RAND New York Monthly Employment by Industry Statistics

RAND New York Employment by Industry Statistics provides a range of industry employment information for New York MSAs and counties based on North American Industry Classification System or NAICS categories, which are determined by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The NAICS reference book is available through most Federal Government book stores.

This schedule assigns two-, three-, four-, five- and six-digit codes to industries with similar services or products. Two digit codes indicate industry sectors. (E.g., sector 33 includes Manufacturing.) Three-, four-, five- and six-digit codes reflect narrow industry groupings. (E.g., 333 includes Machinery Manufacturing. 3331 includes Agriculture, Construction, and Mining Machinery Manufacturing. 33311 includes Agricultural Implement Manufacturing. 333111 includes Farm Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing)

With the exception of statewide statistics (which are provided as seasonally adjusted and not seasonally adjusted), all statistics are not adjusted for seasonal employment variations. Please note that monthly updates may also contain updated data for prior months. The source is the New York State Department of Labor.
